James Henry Bruce's Obituary
James Henry Bruce was born March 10, 1922, in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He was the eighth child born to Mary and Samuel Bruce. They moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas when James was 18 month old. He grew up in Arkansas, and then he moved to Seminole Oklahoma in October of 1940. There he met Ida Faye Griggs, and they were married on December 19, 1941. He went into the Army Air Corp in April of 1943, he served 21 months in Italy with the Fifteen Air Corp, 455 Bomber group. He received the good conduct medal, EAMC service ribbon with one Silver Star, and four bronze stars, and one bronze oak leaf cluster. James came home from Italy in August of 1945 and they moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James was an auto mechanic, among other places he worked at Fred Jones Ford in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 20 years and retired from the Ford Glass Plant in Broken Arrow/Tulsa, Oklahoma in July 1986. James and Ida have four children, James Ray Bruce, and wife Betty of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Eddie Wayne Bruce and wife Peggy of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Gayla Carol Trusty and husband Larry of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Randall King Bruce and wife Marcia of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They have nine grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren… James and Ida were married 71+ years. James was the last one of ten children.
