James William Carr's Obituary
James William Carr, age 94, passed away on October 28, 2021 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was born January 18, 1927 in Inola, Oklahoma to Earl Carr and Opha (Lowder) Carr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vera Snelling and Sue Kellogg; brothers, A.O. Carr and Frank Carr; his first wife, Ann and his son, Steve.
Survivors include his grandson, Michael (Jenny) Carr; granddaughter, Stefanni (Andrew) Woods; four great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Nancy) Carr; sister-in-law, Marjorie Carr all of Broken Arrow; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
James landed in the Philippines in WWII, when he was 17 years old. He served in the United States Army for 7 years, reaching the rank of Tech Sgt. After separation from the Army, he worked in the Aerospace Industry basically for the rest of his life at Boeing, Douglas, North American, Rockwell Int., Telex, etc. He worked on components of the B71 bomber, X-15, B58 gattling gun the LEM (Lunar Excursion Module) that landed on the moon and many other projects. He was a tool designer extraordinaire. He designed tools and machines that you could not comprehend when he showed them. But the most important aspect of his life was the fact that he met and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in the summer of 1975. He had a good life even with all the bumps and bruises we all acquire during our lifetime.
Pallbearers will be Brian Carr, Aaron Sturgeon, Andrew Carr, Blake Carr, Brayden Carr, Zachary Sturgeon, Jaxon Sturgeon and Ronnie Smith.
Reverend Greg Carr will officiate and Brother Mike Hamilton will lead praise and worship.
