He was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carrier Local 1358 for 42 years. Marty married Vicki Bishop on November 15th, 1974. They resided in Broken Arrow for their married life. He loved his dogs, and would take in abandon pets when they came to the door. He was always concerned they would forget him when he was gone too long. That was not the case they were happy to see him when he returned. They were a pleasure and comfort to him. He loved football, was an avid Pittsburg Steeler fan. He also rooted for the Washington Redskins and the University of Tulsa who he would watch on TV or listened to on the radio. He shared his knowledge of sports with the youth of Broken Arrow in the early 70's coaching both Pee Wee Football and Little League baseball. Marty loved life, he was happiest on either the lawn mower or his tractor. He took care of his yard and anyone else that needed theirs mowed he was there to it for them. He enjoyed sitting in the backyard under his Elm tree reading the newspaper and drinking coffee waiting on the grass to dry out enough to mow. In the evenings he would visit with neighbors and solve the problems of the world while watching over the neighborhood. He was a caring man one who was loyal. Everyone who knew him always liked to be around him. They loved his laugh. Towards the end when friends came to visit they could always get him to laugh. He was a joy to be around. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 42 years Vicki of the home, brother Bill Cotton, sister-in-law Pam Cotton. He took pride in this nephew and nieces and their children and his Uncle Clarence. Marty left this world and those he met in a better place for having known him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who came in contact with him.
