I don't remember papa that good because I don't have the best of memory, but of what i do remember, he was always a great, caring, and sometimes shy Grandpa. I love and miss you papa.

My memories of James goes back to some very good times at Thomas Community Church where he and Pam attended. I remember the special spirit that James had even during difficult heath challenges. His genuine smile and even half-smile was always present. James is yet another friend that makes heaven all the more precious. My sincere prayers for Pam and the entire family…until we join him again…and there we shall be forever together. Thank God for hope eternal!
First thing I would like to say is that I will miss my Uncle James very much . I have many good memories from when I was a child and coming up their for visits and how much my Uncle was a ham and was always wanting you to smile . I remember my father and my Uncle always trying to get one over on the other . I think it was a game for them so it was funny ! I know my father is in heaven and he paved the road for his brother to join him where they can be together once again and that gives me alot of peace. My Aunt Pam shared with me her last day with my Uncle and how they spent the day together and how happy they both were and I hope that will help her through this time and remember that he loved her . I'm sorry I cant be their for you but know he is in a better place and he is smileing at us all from above ! Love Cindy
I remember visiting Uncle Jim when I was pretty young. He was a lot of fun and extremely ornry. He sprayed my sister and I with a water hose in his back yard. We were running around trying to escape the water. I swear it felt like a high powered fire hose. We laughed and cried. He's always been so kind. I will remember him through that memory and the many more my mom shared with him. He was a big part of her life and I'm glad he was such an important part of her life to help shape her into the most caring loving and stubborn mother I love with my whole heart. May you rest in loving peace Great Uncle Jim. – Chastity Sims
I am sorry to hear of James passing. He was a wonderful Christian man. Lots of great memories of him at Garnett Assembly. He will be missed. Kathy Stephens Howe
Pam – I always remember James walking around taking pictures of everyone. Now he has all of heaven to capture in a photograph. Wouldn't he love to send pictures back to let us know how wonderful it all is! So sorry to hear of his passing. Will keep you and the family in prayer over the next few weeks. James has received his eternal reward with a new body to forever praise his Savior! God Bless! Gerald & Rita (Shatwell) Daniels
Dearest Pam While I only knew James peripherally through you, I think this will be a comment that can resonate in your heart as well as all those who knew him PERSONALLY! You know, one of the greatest qualities a human being can have is that of Reflecting Christ! We often hear about how this person or that person will be "the only JESUS some will ever see"… well, my thoughts and admiration of James is through the reflection of him I see in YOU!. Having known you for so long… the happiest you ever seem are when you are talking about him and/ or with him (which for most of the time I've known him, you were also his #1 caregiver!!) So, I can only observe that if his reflection causes that much fullfilment and joy in your life, he must have been QUITE the wonderful person!!! I'm so thankful you have had such beautiful times with him… no one deserves MORE the happiness and being treated as great as you were treated by him!! All my love!!! Rhonda
James was a Sunday school teacher at Garnett while I was SS Supt. He had a great interest in students both in and outside the classroom. I have learned that he was teaching long before Marie and I began attending there. Some of his students are now in their 50s and have warm memories and treasured respect for his input into their Christian walk. Commendable. James had a great photographic talent. He took photos at numerous weddings, capturing their precious moments for posterity. At church he always had his camera for special events. Even with his failing eyesight, he proved to be a good marksman. I learned this while he and I practiced shooting in recent years. He had a diversified knowledge covering a vast number of subjects, and leaves giant footprints on the sands of time. I will miss him, and look for him as he traipses the streets of gold. James E.
