Lit a candle in memory of James C. Ebel II
My first encounter with James was at an Ebel family reunion held at Lake Pacawa Park in Plover, Wi. I was struck by how bright he was, showing great interest in my job as a performance race shop owner. He was quite mechanically astute, even at that early age, and showed a strong interest in my very fast Camaro. Boys being boys, it was only a matter of time before we slipped out and took it for a high speed spin on some twisty back roads. He loved it and I enjoyed his unbridled enthusiasm. We had a strong bond from that day on. We always shared catch-up stories on his subsequent visits to Wisconsin. I will sorely miss his upbeat disposition and insatiable curiosity about engines.
