Jimbo and I went to same high school: East Central and I remember watch in home game. Him and I became friend. Every time we see each other, He say like Hey buddy. I say Hey bud. When he went OU, watch their game, just see if I can see him playing. His years Kansas City remembering. I remember call my parent; he know their name, my mother told me, she had letter for me and ask me, "Whose is this J. Elrod" and I told Jimbo old friend. I got the letter from her, I read it. Jimbo was inviting me to Kansas City and see play in a game if I had time and call him. So, I did and He met the airport in Kansas City. We had good time and renew our friendship together. So long Old Friend. We traded a lot of sweat and blood in the East Central Wrestling Room to make each other better. I still have a cauliflower ear (that your Dad drained) from one of your head locks. And had some great times on double dates and fun times together in high school. I got swats in the weight room from Coach Goodsell for one of yours and Romine's pranks. It was the best and most memorable of times. We went our separate ways after high school but I have always been proud to tell people I that you and Billy were good friends. And my parents adored your parents. The fond memories of our time together will last as long as I live. I will see you on the other side, old friend.

I have known the Elrod's seems my whole life. Many memories to choose from. I was very sad to hear about Jimbo's passing. I do remember Jimbo coming over to the house in 1978 and took a picture with our son who was 3 at the time. Will chersih the picture forever. Had a great time visiting with him. To many memories with this family, seems my heart cannot form the words I want. God bless the Elrod family during their time of sorrow. He was a wonderful person. Cathey Torpey Watkins
