James William Engman Jr.'s Obituary
James was born on May, 17 1973 at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio Texas. He was six weeks premature and it was touch and go early in his life. When he came home he weighed just over five pounds. James and his family moved to Minnesota where they lived from 1975 to 1986. He was known as Jamie to his family and friends when living in Minnesota. He attended dance and baton classes while in Minnesota and participated and a variety of local parades. While in Minnesota he developed skill in playing the accordion and won several awards at both local and national competitions. He and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1986. He attended Kellyville schools where he graduated in 1991. He was co-salutorian of his graduating class. While in school he was an exemplary student and a member of the school band where he played alto saxophone. During his high school years he developed a penchant for playing role playing games. He carried that love of game playing for the rest of his life. Following high school he attended Oklahoma State University. He graduated in 1997 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his working career he worked for a variety of companies including Delhi in Tulsa and AAI in Oklahoma City. Since 2006 James lived in Oklahoma City with his brother Chris. During his time in Oklahoma City he developed a keen interest in leather working where he crafted a variety of leather articles with his specialty being medieval pouches. He was a dedicated student of fencing activities at Redlands Fencing Academy and at Redlands he was an active member of the Redland Rogues, their stage combat performing group. He left this world unexpectedly on July 10, 2013.
