Capt. James Fosty Bella, 72, born October 10, 1941, Gary, IN, passed June 12, 2014, Tulsa, OK, into the loving arms of Heavenly Father. Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by loving siblings: Joan (Tom) Wozniczka of Valparasio, IN; Daniel (Helen) Bella of Hobart, IN. Loved by wife Patricia Joan, son Douglas, daughter Barbara, twin step-daughters Camie & Karie, step-son Chief. Grandpa Jim loves his four grandchildren eternally. “Fosty” adores his three great-granddaughters. Capt. Bella proudly served his nation in the Air Force and later the Army Reserves. Possesses a B.S. in Engineering, Purdue University and his MBA from Northwestern University (Chicago). Worked for Gary Steel Works, Continental Bank, Associates Bancorp and retired from the City Of Tulsa with 20 years as EDP Auditor. Proponent for constitutional and civic rights, family, creative thinking, technology, recycling, and helping others in unique ways. Surrogate parent for many, and knowing no stranger, he easily talked to all ages and inspired smiles everywhere. Most often described as a sweet man, loving, highly intelligent, generous and jovial; he possessed a sensitive, tender heart. Reared by a loving Italian father and mother, Jim greeted friends as family and offered delicious sustenance for stomachs even as he gave encouragement to the souls of all he welcomed to his home.
