James Hunt's Obituary
James Anthony “Jim” Hunt was born Sept. 17, 1939 in Moline, IL to Harry C. and Helen C. Kendall Hunt. Jim was raised most of his young life by his paternal grandparents in Rock Island, IL and graduated from Rock Island High School in 1958.Jim then enlisted in the United States Navy and was installed on the U.S.S. Lexington. After his honorable discharge, Jim remained in California to be close to family. There he met the love of his life, Beuna “Bea” Leann Anderson. She and her three young children stole his heart. Jim and Bea were married on August 10, 1968 and moved the family back to Bea’s home state of Oklahoma. They resided in Tulsa where Jim owned his own concrete business. After that, he worked as a machinist at Kenco and Liberty Glass, from which he retired, then he went to work part time at Fomac.Jim was involved and enjoyed many things including being an excellent bowler leading him to serve as a Director for the American Bowling Congress (ABC). He dearly loved the outdoors which included camping, boating, fishing and hunting. He made many lifelong friends during his ventures and never tired of talking about his “last catch” or his “last hunt”.Jim was a wonderful provider for his family, a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bea, of the home, son Steve, daughter Sandy and husband Dean, three sisters Peanut, April & Mary; six grandchildren Mandy, Laurie, Steven, Taran, Austin, and Dustin; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of very, very special friends. Jim was preceded in death by both his parents, one daughter, Becky, two half-brothers and one half-sister.A memorial service for Jim is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Floral Haven, Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Randy Wilson residing.Interment will be in Floral Haven Cemetery at a later dateVisitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26 from 5 pm – 8 pm.Services will take place at 10 am on Wednesday, November 27 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
