James E. "Jim" McElroy's Obituary
James E. “Jim” McElroy passed away February 15, 2017 after a short illness. Jim was born April 21, 1948 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Woodrow Felch and Jean Marie (Lafferty) McElroy. Jim was raised and attended school in Bixby, Oklahoma. He worked in the food merchandising business for 43 years retiring at the age of 64. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Felch. Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vicki, 2 children, James “Bud” McElroy and his wife, Kacy, Kimberly Hickman and her husband, Jerry of Broken Arrow, OK; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Wolfe and her husband, Cody, Andrea Smith and her husband, Dustin, Jeremy Hickman, Jaycie McElroy and Kayla McElroy, all of Broken Arrow, Ok; 5 great grandchildren, Cheyenne Wolfe, Ryleigh Wolfe, Tannar Smith, Cody Wolfe and Cooper Smith of Broken Arrow, OK; two brothers, Charles McElroy of Tulsa, Ok and Tom McElroy of Bixby, Ok and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, survive him. Jim retired at the age of 64 and enjoyed spending time at his lake house on Lake Eufaula with his wife Vicki. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and his dogs. He was a devoted and loving husband. His greatest pride was in his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them as much as possible. He was a loving father who always said, “we did something right”. He taught his children to love hard, work hard and be honorable. He will be greatly missed. “We Love You More” Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday, February 20, 2017, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment, Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Sunday, February 19, 2017, Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
