James Roy “Jim” Thurman, 82, of Tulsa, died Monday, August 19,2013. He was born October 15, 1930, the son of John Andrew and Dottie Mae (Greer) Thurman. Jim loved to read, paint and cook. He was very funny and everyone had a great time when he was around. He was “ornery”, and loved to tease and make people laugh. He honorably served his country by joining and serving in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. He is survived by his nephews; John Story, and his wife Carol, of Claremore, OK, Marty Story, and his wife Jane, of Kansas City, MO, Douglas Story, and his wife Karen, of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Brian Crane, Denver, Colorado, nieces; Lisa Crane and Sherri Pardo, both of Las Vegas, brother-in-law, Orin Crane, Denver, Colorado, sisters-in-law, Joan Thurman and Lee Thurman, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George Thurman, Frank Thurman, four sisters, Evelyn Story, Eulah Thurman, Betty Crane, and Irene Taylor. Private family services.
