James Joseph Hardy's Obituary
James Joseph Hardy was born on April 27, 1916 in Philadelphia, New York, the first of six children born to George and Grace Hardy. He passed away on April 6, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. James attended Indian River Central High School in New York. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army Corps; where he attained the rank of Quarter Master. After serving in the military he returned home to run the family farm. James married Esther A. Kiechle on November 12, 1945; and together they raised six children. James later worked as a Custodian for the same high school he had graduated from; Indian River Central. After retiring in 1976, James loved spending quality time with his family, especially his grandkids. He loved spending his time outdoors; bird watching, nature walks and bicycling. James and Esther were very spiritual and attended Philadelphia United Methodist Church for many years. James will be remembered for his smiley, loving, generous, fun and happy spirit, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters Kim Patterson, Karen Perea and Colleen Hardy; son Kevin Hardy; grandchildren Kylie Allen, Katie Patterson, Ryan Perea, Alec Perea, Trevor Perea and Tatiana Perea; great-grandchildren Brylie Allen, Brett Allen, Easton Allen and Kollin Hardy. James is preceded in passing by his parents George and Grace Hardy; his wife Esther Hardy, and his children Kittie and Mark Hardy. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and prayers during this difficult time. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Philadelphia United Methodist Church.
