James Charles Ludwig's Obituary
James Charles Ludwig, 90, a resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023, at Franciscan Villa. James was born on March 12, 1933, in Queens, New York to Charles and Catherine Ludwig. James proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1955. During his service he received a Korean Service Medal and Bronze Service Star; he also received a United Nations Service Medal, National Defenses Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Emblem, and a Good Conduct Medal. James went to work for American Airlines in 1955 and he eventually retired as The Managing Director of the Controllers Department in 1992. He was a longtime member of St. Benedicts Church in Broken Arrow. He volunteered on the St. Benedicts Parish Council with Father Eichoff and on the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also delivered Meals on Wheels and was a delivery driver for the American Red Cross. In addition to driving for the Red Cross, he was a gallon blood donor himself and was also a member of the American Red Cross rare donor program. James was part of the Diocesan Development Fund with Msgr. Gaalaas and often volunteered for the Food Pantry at St. Benedicts Church. James leaves his loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. He will sincerely be missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
James was preceded in passing by his parents, Charles and Catherine Ludwig; and his brother, Fred Ludwig. He is survived by his wife Cindy of 66 years; his daughter, Cindy Hughes, of Cordova, Tennessee; son, Jim Ludwig, of Tampa, Florida; daughter, Donna Hewson, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Sunday, April 30, 2023, at The Church of Saint Benedict in Broken Arrow
Funeral Mass will be 12:00 pm, Monday, May 1, 2023, at The Church of Saint Benedict in Broken Arrow
