James W. Shumar's Obituary
James William Shumar was born on Nov. 22, 1943 to Charles William Shumar and Mildred (Miller) Shumar of Newboro (New Salem) Pennsylvania; and passed away on Thursday October 26th, 2017. James achieved a 9th grade education. James and Kay were married in 1984 in Missouri, but would live in Pennsylvania and Ohio before finally settling down in the Tulsa area in the late 70’s. James was a hard-working man, doing all he could to provide for his family; holding three jobs at once if need be. James worked at a steel shop in Canton, Ohio where he damaged his hands; he worked at McCarthy’s, a grocery store, he was a custodian at American Christian College, he worked for San Juan Pools, he worked at American Insulation and Moore’s Insulation for close to 20 years, he worked for Mathis Brothers Furniture in his semi-retired part of life. James was Holy Ghost filled and had been baptized in Jesus name. He was a faithful member of The United Pentecostals of Broken Arrow for over 20 years. James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Mildred Shumar; his brother David Shumar, his son Johnny Shumar, and his step-son Robby Haught. James is survived by his wife Marilyn Kay Shumar of Broken Arrow; brother Chuck Shumar and wife Delores of Broken Arrow; Sister Mille Ebey of Florida; sister Judy Shumar of Newboro, Pennsylvania; son James Jr. Shumar of Ohio; daughter Kimberly of Ohio; daughter Rachel Reed and grandchildren Joel, Micah, and Rebecca. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the United Pentecostal Church of Broken Arrow.
