James Melton Stroud's Obituary
James (Jim) Melton Stroud, 89, of Tulsa, passed away on October 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by loved ones and his kitty. Jim was born on June 2, 1934 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Thomas and Mable Stroud. Jim was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, a longtime member of the karting community, a racer, and an engine builder. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, his parents, his brother, Tom Stroud, one sister, Jane Wise, two grandchildren, Dexter “Dee” and LaDonna Stroud. Jim is survived by one sister, Mary Albanese, his five children, Dexter, Pam, Janie, Patricia, and Cheryl, son in laws, Raymond, Drew, Jeff, and Bernie, daughter in law, Dwynne, his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cat, Harley. A funeral will be held on November 2, 2023 at 12:30 with a reception to follow. The services will be held at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family is asking that instead of the traditional attire, please wear a MISI or racing shirt, if you have one. Also, if you raced with or for Jim, please bring your helmet to display and show all the karters and lives that he has touched.
