James Porter Wible II's Obituary
James Porter Wible l l, was born August 3 1938 passed peacefully in his sleep on September 10, 2022. Born and raised in the rural mountains of Pennsylvania he was the oldest of 7 children. He worked a wide variety of jobs before joining the Army, one of which was laying sod at Camp David whenever there was a scheduled visit. when he returned from Germany he worked at the Letterkenny Army Depot. While working at Letterkenny he received a couple of awards then was offered a position with the FAA in California, later being transferred to New Jersey where he retired after 48 years. While he was with the FAA he traveled all over the country, teaching the programs he wrote to air traffic controllers. I have been told those programs are still in use today.
James is predeceased by both parents James and Myrtle Wible; 2 brothers, Joe Wible and Hank Keefer. 2 sisters, Mary Souders and Debra Keefer.
James married Gloria Jean Wolfe on November 30, 1963, they enjoyed over 57 years together, Gloria passed away on April 6, 2021, in EHT, NJ.
James, or Happy as many people knew him, moved to Coweta, Ok to be close to his daughter, Tami, and her husband Theron Chalakee of Coweta, OK, and 3 grandchildren, Rebecca, James & Joshua Olcott.
James is survived by brother John Wible and sister Lucille Horst as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Operation Homefront.
