Jamie Michelle "JP" Park's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jamie Michelle Park, affectionately known as "JP" by those closest to her. Jamie was born on June 13, 1986, and departed this world on April 15, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Jamie was a bold force in this world. She touched the lives of many with her free-spirited nature and vibrant personality, truly never meeting a stranger. She will be forever missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Some of you knew Jamie better than others, but you’re here because Jamie Park had an impact on each and every one of your lives. Jamie was a graduate of Union High School in 2005, later receiving her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Northeastern State University.
Jamie’s presence alone lit up the room with her humor and free-spirited personality. She always had a smile on her face, regardless of whatever personal hurt she was dealing with. Jamie was hilarious. She let everyone around her feel joy and laughter even if the joke was on her. She cultivated all of her relationships with beauty. Often making friends with strangers during her travels. Her friends and family always appreciated her eternal optimism. She always looked for the best in every person and every situation.
Jamie volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tulsa, building a bond with a local troubled teen. All because she loved helping people and getting involved to make a difference. Jamie was so selfless and humble, always available to give her time and love to others. She gave so many friends a voice and place in the LGBTQ community. Her friends knew that with Jamie they had a mentor and could be comfortable and honest.
Jamie loved to camp and kayak with friends, and cruise around in her Jeep. She felt the most comfortable in nature, especially on her epic fishing trips in Canada with her dad. She grew up with a love for sports, and her passion was tennis, which she pursued all throughout high school. She carried on her love for sports by being the biggest cheerleader for her niece and nephew.
Jamie worked for American Crating Company, a family business, and was a Realtor for Coldwell Banker. Jamie loved music, good music, - and she turned that passion into an opportunity to thrive as an on-air personality with KHITS. She was a diehard fan of rock star Stevie Nicks, even naming her cat Stevie Nips. The radio station let her be her vibrant and authentic self, giving her energetic personality a place to prosper.
Jamie is survived by her parents James Michael and Carol Park, Brother Jeff Park, Sister-in Law Jenny Park, niece and nephew Brooklyn and Jesse Park whom she absolutely adored, and innumerable family and close friends. The loss of Jamie Park has and will forever leave a void in the hearts of those closest to her.
