Jan Ann Harris' Obituary
Jan Ann Harris was born on November 22, 1951, in Iola, Kansas, to John Myron Thomas and Arbutus Juanita (Starkey) Thomas. Jan lived in Iola, Kansas in 1951 and 1952; lived in Lawrence, Kansas from 1952-1973; lived in Kansas City, Kansas, 1973-1979; moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in 1979 until 1997; then she lived in the Sperry are from 1979 until present. She passed from this life on May 09, 2014. She graduated from Lawrence High School. Then Jan became a dental assistant. Jan married John Thomas Harris on January 02, 1971, at Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Lawrence, Kansas. She was a member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church. She retired in 1992 after serving 27 years. After retirement they were involved in horses, traveling, shopping, watching movies, cooking, and being with family. Everyone knew Jan’s deep belief of God without her having said a word. She lived it. Jan was involved in the Arabian Horse Association, the Cooking Club of American, and Antique Motorcycles of America. Family was the most important thing in her life. She would have said the top three most important events in her life were the day she and John married; the day her daughter was born; and, the day each of her grandchildren were born. Everyone knew Jan as loving, giving, spiritual, honest, and sincere. Some of Jan’s favorites past times and hobbies were sewing, cooking, horses, traveling, shopping, painting, and drawing, and listening to Kenny G, the Carpenters, Kenny Rogers, and Vince Gill. Jan is survived by her loving husband of the home, John T Harris; daughter, Daria Reynolds, and husband, Art of Sperry, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Christian Dobson, Devin Dobson, Caitlin Dobson, and Cassandra Reynolds, all of Sperry, Oklahoma; brother, John Thomas, Jr. of Lawrence, Kanas; and sister, Sheri Butler of Ocala, Florida; niece, Shelley Turner of Mountain Home, Idaho; and nephew, Scott Smith of San Jose, California. She is preceded in death by her parents.
