Jan Knight's Obituary
Knight, Jan Mary Joanne Jan Knight passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 26, 1929 in Muskogee, OK to Henry and Cecil (Ogden) Roberson. She graduated from Muskogee High School and the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK. She married George H. Knight, Jr. on September 5, 1951 in Muskogee. Jan was an outgoing person who loved everyone she met. Her home was always a welcoming place for her children’s friends and later for her grandkids. She enjoyed golf, tennis, bowling, playing Bridge, working puzzles and reading. She was a Girl Scout in Muskogee and a Girl Scout Leader for many years in Tulsa. Her troops remember her as someone who was patient, adventurous and fun, even on rainy and cold camp-outs at Camp Scott. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Her parents, her husband and 1 son, Clay Randall Knight, preceded Jan in death. Her son, Doug Knight and wife Denise of Mission Viejo, CA, daughters Staci Schepers and husband Paul of Jenks, and Leann Hampton and husband Steve of Tulsa survive her. Her 12 grandchildren, Heather, Megan and Taylor Knight, Randi Kokis and Cheryl Hurley, Chris, Leslie and Katie Schepers, Audra, Michaela and Hannah Knight, and Nikki Melton also survive her along with 8 great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK. (918)252-2518. Visitation Sunday 1-9, Monday 9-9. The family asks that any donations be made to charities of choice.
