Jane Green Holland's Obituary
On September 6, 2022, Jane Green Holland, loving wife of Thomas Robert (Bob) Holland, passed away at the age of 88. Jane was born in Gladewater, Texas. Her mother, Gladys Irene Reynolds, passed when she was just 1½ years old. Her father, Ernest Green, struggled during the Great Depression to raise her and her brother (Ernest). She was sent to be raised by Jenny and Alvin Jeter, affectionately referred to as Mama and Papa. When Mama passed and Papa’s health worsened, she moved to Longview, TX to live with Faye and Harry Lewis, and their daughters Jenny and Harriet.
Jane was born July 13, 1934. She married Bob Holland on February 11, 1961. They had two sons, Jim (wife Patricia) and Larry (wife Bonnie). She also helped to raise two stepsons, Tom (wife Kathy) and Ric (wife Paula). Bob and Jane celebrated 50 years of loving marriage before he passed on August 20,2011.
She is survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Shala Gallagher and son Charles. Ashley Shibley (husband Adam) and children Adelyn and Ace. Robby Holland (wife Lexi). Jake Holland (wife Taylor). Rick Holland (wife Kim) and children Braxton and Brynn. Steven Holland (wife Megan) and children Harper and Hudson. Stephanie Blackwood (husband David) and children Gracelynn and Weston. David Holland (wife Taylor Clark) and daughter Piper. Lauren Holland and Matt Holland.
Bob and Jane shared a passion for camping, traveling, and genealogy. Jane used this passion to travel all over the US researching their family tree. She wrote two of her own books and because of her extensive research, is published in many more. Some of her research was requested by the Smithsonian Museum and now resides there.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 4250 W Houston St, Broken Arrow, OK 74012 on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest immediately following at Floral Haven Cemetery, 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
