Janet Lorraine Evans Blair Janet Lorraine Evans Blair, 56, passed away peacefully at her home on April 23, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born April 2, 1955 in Cleveland, TN to William Lewis Evans, Sr. and Matilda Walton Evans who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her brother; William L. Evans Jr. Janet was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, as well as a dear friend to many. Janet received the Lord as her Savior at an early age and grew up in the AME Zion Church and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1973. She continued her education at Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Janet worked as a travel agent for Ocoee Travel Agency (Cleveland, TN) and Professional Travel (Dalton, GA) prior to relocating to Tulsa. She also worked for Destiny Worship Embassy, International (Tulsa, OK) as the church secretary for many years. She loved to shop, (particularly for bargains); play scrabble and other computerized games, listen to gospel music, wear high heel shoes, and loved all cats. She wrote a book called 'Give Faith a Chance.' Janet loved her family and was deeply loved by them. She was especially proud of her six grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters: Jennifer Billingsley, Tulsa, OK.; Laura (Lamont) Green, Tulsa, OK.; grandchildren: Brandon, Asia, Arreon, Indya, Xavier, and Julius all of Tulsa, OK.; brother, Charles (Eula) Evans, Huntsville, AL,; sisters, Joyce (Ernest) Cowan, Chattanooga, TN.; Billie (David) Blair, Cleveland, TN.; Nancy Ware, Tulsa, OK, Sally (Keith) Chaney, Tulsa, OK, other relatives and a host of friends. The home going service for Janet Blair will be Friday, April 29, 2011 at the New Creation Worship Assembly in Tulsa, OK. with her sister, Apostle Sally Chaney, officiating. Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 South 129th East Ave., Broken Arrow, OK. 74012 in charge.
