Janette "Jan" K. Hunter's Obituary
Janette “Jan” K. Hunter – 74, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter-in-law and friend, born into this world on Friday, March 27, 1942 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to her loving parents Emerson & Rosemary Wright; went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side. Janette or better known as “Jan” by her family and friends has been a resident of the Tulsa area for over seventy years after moving to Tulsa at a very young age. Growing up in Tulsa Jan enjoyed many things in her youth especially being a camp counselor at a summer camp and teaching kids how to water ski. On September 10, 1961 she married the love of her life at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church; settling down in Tulsa they started a family. Jan was a devoted wife, mother and later grandmother filling her free time with family activities which included many trips to the lake and going to her grandchildren sporting events; even going on a trip of a life time with her beloved husband to Australia and together they took many amazing sailing trip to places such as the Virgin Isles and Honduras. Jan will always be remembered for the love, care and devotion to her family and friends, as memories will be cherished that had their life touched by hers. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty years James “Jim” L. Hunter; her precious son, James L. Hunter Jr.; her loving parents, Emerson & Rosemary Wright; her loving sister, Francis Yeater; her dearly loved father-in-law, John “Jack” Forest Hunter and her dear brother-in-law, Robert Boyd. She is survived by her loving children, John E. Hunter & wife Lourie and Maryanne Dover & husband Patrick; her six precious grandchildren, Levy Adcock & wife Sarah, Lauren Gariss, Nash Hunter, Wesley Hunter, Gracie Dover and Aaron Hunter; her dearly loved mother-in-law, Annabelle Hunter; her dear sister, Gladys Boyd; a special and dear friend Gary Willett and numerous other loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 at 10:00AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel, later being placed to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Crematory & Memorial Gardens; 6500 S 129th East Avenue; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
