Janice L. Joseph's Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Janice Nagel Joseph passed away on January 28, 2016. Janice’s life was intricately woven into the hearts of her family. Loving daughter of Pat and Larry; devoted wife of Greg; precious sister to Larry, Kerry, and Jerry; doting mother to Jennifer and Jon; cherished grandmother of Jeana and Jill; dear aunt to Sarah, Tesa, Jesse, Jared, Adam, Kristen, Kevin, Jack, Derek, and Danielle; and adored mother-in-law of Josh and Amber. Janice Lea Joseph was born on November 30, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in Independence, MO, graduating in 1973 from Truman High School. After graduation, in lieu of college, Janice opted for two years in Hawaii. After returning home to Independence, she decided that Oklahoma was more to her liking and she moved to be closer to her much-missed sister, Kerry. Soon after, she married Tom’s brother, Greg Joseph. Two very special families merged into one, forging a bond of extended family second to none. And that’s where her real story began… about two years after marrying, Janice became a mother. Janice was born to nurture her family. Jennifer and Jon were her sun. As a mother, her world revolved around softball parks, soccer fields and BMX tracks. Sprinkle in nieces and nephews, relatives near and far, supporting the busy schedule of a traveling, hard-working husband, and you have Janice’s world – busy, full, and selfless to a fault. She was totally and completely selfless as a wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her nurturing spirit was rewarded with more blessings when her granddaughters, Jeana and Jill, were born. They filled her heart and world, which, as a grandmother, then meant school schedules, gymnastics, cheer practice/competitions and basketball. She was once again doing what she loved best and she would not have had it any other way. In lieu of flowers, we know that Janice would welcome donations made to All Saints Catholic School, 299 South 9th Street, Broken Arrow, OK 7401; a private school attended by her granddaughters Jeana and Jill. Donations can also be made online at: http://www.allsaintsba.com/DonateToday.html Memorial Service to be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Rose Chapel of Floral Haven Funeral Home.
