Janila L. Meade's Obituary
On July 30, 2021, in Wichita, KS, Janila “Jan” Meade, age 83, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, met her Savior. She was reunited in Glory with her precious and dearly missed daughter, Charissa Protzman, and her long-held faith became sight.
Jan was born December 3, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her parents, Carl and Ila Rose. Her loving parents raised her to have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. She spent many years as an administrative assistant in the oil and gas industry. Jan and her daughter, Charissa, shared a strong and special bond due to the many years they spent loving and supporting one another.
On November 12, 1982, she married William “Bill” H. Meade, and they shared over 34 years together in Bartlesville and Claremore, Oklahoma.
Jan is survived by her sister, Carlmetia “Carm” Stanton of Overland Park, Kansas; two nieces, Denise Taylor and her husband, Randy, of Colleyville, Texas, and Dawn Flucke and her husband, Scott, of Wichita, Kansas; four great-nieces, Brooke, Jillian, Brenna, and Quinlyn; and a host of friends and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, and her daughter, Charissa.
Jan’s greatest legacy was her faith in Jesus Christ. She was often heard saying, “God has always taken care of me, and He’s not going to stop now.” In her later years, despite losing loved ones, Jan’s life was marked by contentment, grace, and joy in all circumstances, which displayed her unwavering faith.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Orlando Juarez officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services (11:30 a.m.). Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
