Janis A. Young's Obituary
Janis Ann Young passed away on July 27, 2018, at the age of 88.Janis was born in Dallas, TX, in 1929. During her time in Dallas, she attended high school, as well as Southern Methodist University. While in Dallas, she met and married A.C. Jordan, with whom she had two children, Gary Lewis Jordan and Franklin Mark Jordan. The couple later divorced, and Janis met and married Jim S. Young. The couple moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they spent over 40 years together.Janis loved to play Bridge, and loved spending time with her beloved dog Muffin. Janis was also an active member of First United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, sharing years in fellowship with the congregation, and spreading a message of love and kindness with the community.Janis will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring individual, with a warm heart and a giving spirit. Her friends and family will miss her kindness, her unconditional love, and her counsel.She was preceded in death by husband Jim S. Young, and son Franklin Mark Jordan. She is survived by her son, Gary Lewis Jordan, her step-daughter Clippie Ann Colon and husband Carlos, and her step-son Jimmy Young and wife Angie. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jeff Jordan, Alex Delaney, Olivia Young, and Ava Young, as well as her great-grandson: Gavin Jordan.The family will be holding a memorial service on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10 a.m., at Floral Haven, 6500 South 129th Ease Ave, Broken Arrow, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone wishing to honor Janis’ memory please send flowers to a loved one, or perform a random act of kindness within the community.
