Jared Shawn Haas-Upky was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 12, 2002. He passed from this earth in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on July 19, 2024. Jared graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 2021. He always said he was going to go back to mortuary school, as he was the kind of person who enjoyed being able to help people in a difficult time.
Jared loved music; he played the viola in the school orchestra and excelled. He also loved gaming on his computer. He could bake just about everything. He made cakes, cookies, and even brownies from scratch – not from the box! He was always ordering DoorDash; his grandpa was sure that Jared’s ordering would bankrupt him! ;) Jared was never at a loss for something to say and most of the time, it was to correct someone else whenever it was needed. He got a kick out of making his granny say words that were hard for her to pronounce. He loved his cat Loretta and his family. Jared was a quirky and unique soul in every way. He is so very loved by his family and his spirit will forever live on in his loved ones, who are left to cherish his memory.
Jared was preceded in death by his mother Amy Haas; grandparents: Arthur Vee Haas, Norene Haas, Arthur “Wayne” Haas, Bobbie Haas, Bob Strout, Jewel Strout, Virginia Campain, Burt White, Florence White-Most as well as his great grandparents: Burt L. White, Harold Upky and Doris Upky.
Jared is survived by his father, David Upky; brother Chameron Bryan Upky; sister Kaleigh Nichole Upky; grandparents: Barbara L. Smith, Lance D. Smith, and David E. Upky; great-grandparents: Paul Smith, and Elizabeth Rosa Smith; aunt and uncle Jennifer Atwell and Shawn Atwell; cousin Carter Atwell; and his sister Jenna Haas.
