Jarrett Dunavan Stites' Obituary
Jarrett was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the sone of Bryan and Geri Stites, and the brother of Jenna Ivy.
Jarrett was a Union Public Schools' "Lifer", attending Jarman Elementary, Middle School and High School in Union.
Growing up, Jarrett was always active and began Karate at the age of 4. He enjoyed the game of baseball and played from a young age through middle school. He once said - "I just might make it to the Major Leagues one day!" Music became Jarrett's passion. Beginning with piano lessons, he, then later developed into an outstanding percussionist in the Union Renegade Marching Band. His family will tell you "he was born to make sound!"
Following graduation in 2017, Jarrett attended Tulsa Community College and earned his Associates Degree in Biology. He completed his college education at NSU Broken Arrow with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Psychology December of 2022. Jarrett found his dream job with IFF in Pryor, Oklahoma, working as a Lab Analyst.
Jarrett met the love of his life, Kendall Parris while serving in the Orchestra at Asbury. They were married on June 01, 2023. Jarrett and Kendall found a very special church community at Forest Park. The love they shared was so special. Jarrett always made Kendall laugh and smile, with that mischievous, cute twinkle in his eye.
Jarrett had a deep faith that stemmed from his family upbringing, and being a part of a special church family at St. Stephen's UMC. His love for the Lord showed in how he lived his life. He was a friend to all, selfless and compassionate. His servant heart grew as he went on mission trips, and as he participated in Scouts from a Tiger Cub through Life Scout. He was proud to honor the Boy Scouts of America with "Doing a Good Turn" daily.
Jarrett lived life to the fullest. He was a "C65" days a year April fools kind of guy, a funny prankster, he made us laugh. He brought his family and his friends great joy and the greatest bear hugs. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed. And he would often say when making peanut butter sandwiches - "you know peanut butter fills the cracks in your heart.
Jarret's Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 03, 2024, at Forest Park Christian Church, 9102 S Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133.
