Jason Edward Johnston's Obituary
Jason Edward Johnston was born on May 7th, 1954 in Gilfach Goch to Jason & Margaret Johnston. He is of 6 children, Stephen, Rosemary, Margaret, Helen & Billy. He is survived by his wife Christina, his two sons, Jason Chris & Gareth, two daughters, Mikaela & Skyla and two grandchildren, Caitlyn & William.Jason moved from the Rhondda Valley in the late 1970’s to live in Nottingham, England. There he worked numerous jobs in and around Beeston and then went to work for Advanced Composites Group in 1981. As a composites technician, Jason was instrumental in carbon composites implementation of motorsports & watercraft. Notably his work on Formula 1 race cars helped him rise in the company.1n 1990, Advanced Composites won an aerospace contract & Jason was chosen to be part of a small group to open a new plant in the United States. He moved his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma in October of 1990 was a vital member in getting the plant up and running successfully. After many years in production in various managerial roles, Jason was promoted to Health & Safety Manager, a role he held until his retirement in March, 2016.Jason was a lover of outdoor activities such as fishing & driving his boat on his beloved Keystone Lake. He was a die-hard connoisseur of music, notably his devotion to Alice Cooper, The Beatles, David Bowie and Led Zeppelin. Jason was an ardent supporter of the Tottenham Hot Spurs football club but his love of Wales Rugby showed in the numerous rugby shirts he would always wear. When he wasn’t on the lake, Jason could be found in the pub playing pool, darts and showing off his shuffleboard skills. His success in DJ’ing made him a legend in Broken Arrow and while he no longer was an active DJ, he could be found on most Saturdays belting out the best karaoke songs.Jason Johnston passed away on April 19th, 2018. A family man, a true friend, a professional mentor & someone who was always prepared to lend a helping hand when needed, he will will be missed by person who’s life he touched.Memorial Services will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
