Javier Alejandro Gardea's Obituary
Javier (Miguel) Alejandro Gardea entered this world on February 4th, 2005, in Wichita, Kansas, bringing joy to his parents, Miranda and Ely Gardea. From the beginning of life, Javier’s arrival marked the beginning of a life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. A legacy that would touch all those fortunate enough to know him.
He left this world on April 23, 2026.
Javier was an active, intelligent, humorous, and always caring for others as a person. At the age of 4, his brother Robert Dorsey Jr, first introduced him to a soccer ball not knowing this would become his true passion in life. Javier by the age of 8, started playing for his first ever club team AC Milan in Wichita.
At the age of 4, on September 19th, 2009, Javier experienced his first seizure and was diagnosed with Epilepsy. Javier ended up outgrowing his Epilepsy by the age of 13.
Javier is originally from Wichita, Kansas, but at the age of 9 in 2014, he and his family moved from Wichita, Kansas, down to Tulsa Ok.
In spring of 2015, Javier started playing for Tulsa Tornados where him and his teammates won their first Presidents Cup. Javier was always the fast, short, little boy with Justin Bieber hair, who ran on the field and scored many goals.
After playing for Tulsa Tornados for 4 years, up until Javier’s 8th grade year, he attended East Central Middle School, where he played for their middle school team.
Coming into high school, Javier would become more serious within his soccer career. He was this fierce competitor and beloved teammate who inspired others. Javier’s senior year he would go on to play in state. Even though he experienced his first state loss, Javier’s love for the game was unmatched, he always played with a spirit and with determination.
Javier would have also went on to play club with TSC. He put all his hard work and effort into each practice and each game. He would always show leadership and encourage other players to do well. Whether he was playing indoor, outdoor, club, or in school, Javier would always play with a passion and with a great spirit.
Beyond the game, Javier was also known for his infectious smile, his loyalty, and the deep love he held for his friends and family. He approached life with the same teamwork, dedication, and heart that he showed for his favorite sport.
Javier was also a big time Philadelphia Eagles fan. Football was something him and his brother Robert also shared a deep love for. Javier would go to his first Eagles game in 2024. He always said the eagles winning the Super Bowl on his birthday was always one of the best things ever. He would always watch every Eagles game, always made sure to taunt the opposing teams and would always chant “fly eagles fly.”
Javier was always a hardworking man and was excited about entering fatherhood.
Javier leaves behind a legacy of love and sportsmanship. Javier is survived by his fiancé Helen Martinez, his daughter Delilah Gardea, his parents Ely and Miranda Gardea, his siblings Jessica Coetzee, Robert Dorsey Jr, Julissa Gardea, Ely O. Gardea, and Yesenia Gardea, his nephews Eli Dorsey and Johnny Gardea and his niece Alena Coetzee, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
