J.B. Shelton's Obituary
J.B. Shelton passed peacefully on June 5th, 2019 – husband, father, papa, brother and friend.Born November 3rd, 1929 in Osceola, AR to James O. and Pauline Shelton. He was raised and worked in the cotton fields of Osceola. After graduating from MISCO High School, he attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas. He was a Captain in the US Army. He retired from Bristol Myers Squibb after 37 years of employment. J.B. was a member of Park Plaza Church of Christ. He was a good Christian man that embraced life and lived his life with kindness and love.J.B. is survived by son Mike and wife Carolyn Shelton of Broken Arrow. Daughter Kathy and husband Larry of Edmond. Grandchildren Megan and husband James McArthur, Karli and husband Steven Bacon and Tyler Patterson. Great granddaughter Madelyn Bacon. He is also survived by brother Wayne Shelton of Starkville, MS and sister Joyce McFarland of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Shelton, sister Eloise and half brother Dick. He leaves behind many extended family members, both in-laws and outlaws.He will be missed by his family, friends, neighbors and any person he encountered along his walk in this life. A great storyteller who never met a stranger. We wish to extend our appreciation to Good Shepherd Hospice and Clarehouse for their unfailing support and kindness these last few weeks.A memorial service will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home on June 10th at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Clarehouse or St. Jude.
