J.D. Parker's Obituary
J.D. Parker, 86, of Sand Springs, died Friday, October 18, 2013. He was born on February 19, 1927, in Calina, Oklahoma, the son of James “Dock” and Julia Parker. He served our country in the United States Army. On June 23, 1951, he married Zola Upshaw in Tulsa, and they had 62 wonderful years together. He is survived by his wife, Zola Parker, of Sand Springs, daughter, Jeanne Parker, of Sand Springs, grandchildren, Lisa Parker, Amy Parker, Amanda Parker, and Kelly Grebelsky, great-granddaughter, Tauren Parker, 2 sisters, Maxine Bitting and Mary Cowan, and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded by his parents, son, Gerald Ray “Jerry” Parker, siblings, Ruth Doak, Betty Lawson, Ivey Johnson, and Daisy Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with burial to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
