Jean Carol Dix (Bacon)'s Obituary
Jean Carol Dix (Bacon) passed peacefully away on September 26, 2024 at her home in Tulsa. Jean was born on February 11, 1934 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to Harold and Elsie (McKee) Bacon. Jean married Fred Andrew Dix Jr on July 18, 1953. They lived throughout the United States due to his job but landed in Tulsa, Oklahoma in February 1973. Jean was very involved with helping the American Association of Petroleum Geologists with social events all around the world. She also was a member of the Magic Empire Artist group, a Girl Scout leader, a member of the National League of American Pen Women, a volunteer art teacher for many years at Pathways and executive secretary for Hilti. Since 1973, Jean was a devoted member of Kirk Of The Hills church and sang in the Kirk choir all those years. She sang her final earthly anthem with the choir on August 11, 2024!
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Fred Andrew Dix, Jr.” her two parents, brothers Harold and Richard, two sisters Erna and Mary, a nephew Adam and a great nephew Andrew.
Jean is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, two daughters Cynthia Harris (Thomas) and Jennifer Brown (Robertson), a son, Stephen Dix (Ashley), 7 grandchildren Corey Thornblad, Cody Brown, Jessica McCutchen, Andrew Brown, Hank Harris, William Browning and Maren Browning and seven great grandchildren. A service for Jean will be held at Kirk Of The Hills at 10:00 in the morning on Saturday October 5. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Street Cats 6520 E 60th St Tulsa Oklahoma 74145, Pathways 4102 E 61st Tulsa Oklahoma 74136, American Cancer Society 7645 E 63rd St STE 105 Tulsa Oklahoma 74134 or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank and recognize Cura-Hospice & Palliative Care for the compassionate care given to our beloved Mother.
