Rebecca Baldwin
I am so sorry this is late, but I just found out about Jean’s passing.
My name is Rebecca Dye Baldwin and my family and Jim’s and Jean’s family were good friends. Our families did so many things together when both our dads were stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois.
I used to play with Margaret and Susan when we were children and I remember the day the twins were born. I was crazy about those twins!
But this is about Jean and I’d like to start off by saying Jean was one of the the kindest and most beautiful souls I have, and ever will, meet. She loved her family more than anything in the world. Every thing she did in her life was done to honor her children. Her voice was so soft that it was soothing. She had a great sense of humor and I can see her smile and her sweet laugh right now in my mind.
She was THE BEST COOK! I remember on some Sundays we were invited to Sunday dinner and she’d ask me to use the electric mixture and mix the banana cake batter for exactly 3 minutes. I felt so important.
I never remember her saying a bad word about anyone. She was so gracious, and she was very forgiving. She always found the best in people.
She was a strong tender light walking amongst us average people and therefore was a shining example of what a woman should be.
I learned a lot from her just by watching her. She impacted my life so much that I became a teacher like her.
I know her children miss her. She was one of a kind.
