Jean Wheeler Hill's Obituary
Alma Jean Wheeler Hill “Jean” as most knew her has passed and gone home to her savior Jesus at the age of 89 in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday, September 23rd 2014. Jean was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 20th 1925 to mother Eula Slankard and father Elmer Slankard . She married Donald L. Hill with whom she spent 19 years with in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jean attended Lowell High School. She worked at Renbergs and Clarks Department Stores in the Mens Department for many years. Jean was also a business women. She was the owner of the Town Pump in Tulsa and also the Wheeler Dealer Club located in Tulsa. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Some things that Jean loved to do was attend church, visit with family and friends, play with her great grandchildren, and watch the OU Sooners play football. She never missed a game. She was in the Marine Corps during World War II. She learned to tap dance and eventually became the Pin Up Girl while serving in the Marine Corps. Jean is survived by her 3 daughters, Karen Patterson, Patti Bollenbacher, and Julie Williams; her 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey Taylor, Grayden Taylor, Case Taylor, Justin McCoy, Sara McCoy, Julia Vieweg, Ross Becker, Wade Becker, Scott Williams, and Lauren Williams; her 4 great grandchildren Kamron McCoy, Emmalynn McCoy, Avalynn McCoy, and Mickey Taylor; her 2 sisters, Margaret Coleman, Judith Bailey, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, and friends. She is preceded by her husband, Donald Hill; her daughter’s father, Harold E. Patterson; sisters, Carolyn Dake, and Betty Joe; brother, Pat Slankard; and many other friends and relatives that she so dearly loved. Services will be held at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church at 4928 E. Latimer in Tulsa Oklahoma on Monday September 29th 2014 at 11am. Brother Ben Langley will be officiating. After the service everyone will follow to the Graveside at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens 6500 S 129th E Ave in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
