Jean Marie Sloan's Obituary
Jean Marie Sloan, 90, resident of Bixby, Oklahoma passed away on June 15, 2022. Jean was born on October 31, 1931, in Dallas, Texas to Thad and Ruby Dederick. Jean moved to Oklahoma from her hometown of Houston. She loved her Covenant living life especially the Bible studies, the friends she made, and the staff made her time very special. Those who knew her saw that her family were her life and joy. She was our Mom and "Memy" and had many others that considered her their own. She was the soothing balm of our family. Her ability to transcend life’s circumstances and lean into the Lord was true all her life. A life well-lived and a legacy to cherish. She was abundantly loved by all that knew her.
“Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20
Jean was preceded in passing by her parents, Thad Dederick and Ruby Grace Dederick (Hall); her husband, Robert Sloan, and her sister, Elaine Miner.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Catherine Sloan-Johnson and her husband, Robert; her grandchildren, Laura Cervi and her husband, Tony, Allison Hower and her husband, Tom and Elizabeth Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Carson, Graham, Parker, and Ella Cervi, and Rhett and Charlotte Hower and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
