Jeanine C Loftin's Obituary
LOFTIN – Jeanine C., age 76 years, passed away peacefully at home with family in Austin TX on September 22, 2008, of natural causes. She was born on November 15th, 1931, in Tulsa, OK to Len and Harriet Cearley. As an adult while raising 3 children with her husband, Jeanine was able to complete bachelor’s degrees in English and Art and a master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Tulsa; obtain teaching certifications in both English and Art; and begin her career as an educator. She retired from her chosen profession after serving at Will Rogers, Edison, Nimitz Memorial and Project 12 in Tulsa. As an educator, she took special interest in the growth of her students including hosting extracurricular activities such as a creative writing club in her own home. Her passion for helping others was also evident in her active participation in the Democratic Party and other political causes. She also volunteered for and supported numerous environmental and humanitarian oriented charities over the years such as Neighbor for Neighbor, Guadalupe Central, Feed the Children, the Audubon Society, ASPCA, Sierra Club, World Wildlife fund, and Nature Conservancy. Her hobbies included a deep passion for the arts as a painter, sculptor, student, and teacher; camping and hiking with her family and others; gardening; and bowling in her younger days; and MENSA. She is survived by: her 3 children, Lynn, Dean, and Vivian Loftin; her granddaughter, Alison Loftin; and her brother, Ronald Cearley. In Lieu of flows, donations can be made to any of the above named organizations. Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 4th, at Floral Haven, 6500 S. 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow.
