Jim Pruett was a rebel, but he had a cause and that cause was his family. He never believed in doing things in any way except HIS way and this was his strength. It was that strength to stand alone against all odds that he passed on to everyone who had the good fortune to know him. I was one of those lucky people, having married his daughter Jayme. I will miss the old man but know that today I am a better person because of the lessons I was able to take from his examples and from his life. This man believed in family first, foremost and always and he lived that belief every day of his truly successful life. His legacy will continue to shine for generations to come in the children and the grand children he leaves behind. All of us will continue to share his message of love and life with those wise enough to accept it. His life was way too short as I know he had many more things to teach us about what really matters in this world. Fortunately he was able to give us enough to get us started along the path he blazed. I know his soul is at rest and at peace just as I know the first words he heard after he left this life were "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
Ollie: Nan and I were so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We thought a lot of Jim. He was always the same-straight forward, non assuming, and honest. We see the same characteristics in Jeffery through our friendship for many years. One of the most serious problems that our country is facing today is a lack of people with those old fashioned qualities. Tom and Nan Ruland
I will always consider the Pruetts as family and "Big Jim" will be sorely missed. He always had time for Jeff and I, wether it was raising animals for AG or building deer blinds. My family and I are very sorry to hear of his passing.
I am saddened to hear of Mr. Pruett's passing. I've always enjoyed my visits with Mr. Jim. I cannot tell you how many times that I, while on patrol in Spring Branch at night, was flagged over by Jim just for him to say "Hello!" That's just the kind of man he was… God Bless…
