Jene Pointer's Obituary
Jene Pointer, a resident of Broken Arrow, passed away March 12, 2021 at the age of 86. She was born May 26, 1934 to Raymond T. Green and Alva (Warner) Green in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in the Tulsa area and attended Casper College and ORU. Jene married Ralph Pointer, who became a geologist in the 1960s and his career took them to Texas, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wyoming, and back to Oklahoma in the 1980s. Their travels took them all over the United States, to Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Israel. Jene loved animals and grew up on a ranch and in later years spent many hours enjoying the many species of local and exotic birds that visited her yard. She loved Jesus and always wanted to introduce people to Him. She volunteered in Nursing Home Ministry and 21 kids called her Mom. She was a member of the SPWLA and life long member of the VFW Auxiliary and inspired the Women's War Memorial in Broken Arrow. She also worked in the Land Department for Amerada Hess and on the Nevada Test Site. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Alva Green and son, Ralph Pointer III.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ralph Pointer and daughter, Jennifer Pointer.
