Jennifer M. Houghton's Obituary
Jennifer Marie Houghton was born Jennifer Marie Price on August 5, 1976, in Salina, Kansas, to John Calvin and Susan Karlene Price. Jennifer became a Christian when she was four years old, and she devoted her life to spreading the Gospel and the love of Christ. She attended college at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, and she received a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in 1998. On April 27, 2002, Jennifer married Erik Steven Houghton, and moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Jennifer was a devoted and loving wife in her marriage of over 12 wonderful years, during which she had a beautiful son, Jakob Asa Houghton, on June 2, 2010. Jennifer, her husband, and son were members of Florence Street Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where she taught young children about salvation, and her life continued to bear the good fruits of her labor for the Lord. She was always willing with a joyful heart to support anyone in need, regardless of her circumstances. Jennifer was first diagnosed with breast cancer when she was pregnant with her son, and by the Grace of God she was cured and had a healthy baby. She was blessed with five more years of creating lasting memories with her son, family and friends before her cancer returned. On Sunday, March 1, 2015, Jennifer was called home to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She is survived by her father and mother, her two brothers, her husband and son. Funeral Service to be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 am Saturday at the Florence Street Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
