Jerome "George" Roebuck's Obituary
Jerome (George) Roebuck entered this life April 29, 1926, to William Curtis and Marguerite (Hefner) Roebuck. George, as everyone fondly called him, passed from this life on January 02, 2014. George was a loving brother to all of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sister: Mary Roebuck Read. George is preceded in death by his wife: Jeannette Schultze Roebuck; son: David Brooks Roebuck; brothers: James Roebuck, Paul Roebuck, Tommy Roebuck and Billie Roebuck; and his sisters: Iris Roebuck Putman and Bonnie Roebuck Kolter. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy, and General Dynamics. He taught at San Diego State College, also. George loved to grow cactus. when he lived in Chula Vista, California, he grew 30 different kinds of cactus. Another one of George’s hobbies was being a short wave radio operator. George earned the Bronze Star Medal while in the U.S. Navy.Memorial contributions in George’s honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Oklahoma, 2448 E. 81st St., Suite 3000, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137.
