Jerry Raymond Crawford's Obituary
Jerry Raymond Crawford, a resident of Broken Arrow, passed away April 6, 2018 at the age of 82. He was born September 8, 1935 to Charlie and Bonnie (Roy) Crawford in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Jerry served in the United States Air Force, Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves over a period of 32 years. He served as a fighter plane mechanic. While serving in the Air Force Reserves, he joined American Airlines, where he was a mechanic, working on commercial airplanes. He retired from American Airlines in 2003, after working for them for 15 years. Jerry also held his pilots license for small aircraft.Jerry had a passion for race cars and built engines for them. In 1977, he was honored by being named “Mechanic of the Year” at the Tulsa race track. Jerry had a love for dogs. He and Ann shared their mutual love for all their pets.Jerry was a member of the Blue Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Akdar Shrine. He was a member of the Christ View Christian Church, which he attended until his illness.Jerry leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Ann Crawford; son, Charles Crawford and wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Linda Crawford and Susan Barns and husband, George; brothers, Denny (Corky) Crawford and Ray Crawford; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bonnie Crawford and sister, Charlotte.Viewing will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Myers officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow.Pallbearers will be John Helberg, Kason Helberg, Clete Pfeiffer, Jimmy Pfeiffer, Steve Hanner and Zachary Hanlon.
