Jerry Lamont Deering cherished member of the Tulsa community, passed away on April 10th, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 87. Born on November 18th, 1936, he leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and service.
Jerry had a deep love for animals, demonstrated by his kindness in feeding the raccoons that frequented his home. His passion for collecting and polishing crystals reflected his appreciation for the beauty found in nature's wonders.
For over five decades, Jerry served diligently at the Tulsa World Newspaper, where his commitment and professionalism left an indelible mark on the institution and its readers. His unwavering dedication to his work was a testament to his strong work ethic and integrity.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jerry proudly served his country as an army veteran, demonstrating bravery and selflessness in defense of his nation.
Jerry will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He leaves behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those who had the fortunate opportunity of knowing him.
He is survived by his two sons; other family members and friends; and his caretaker Kathleen Pence.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter.
