Jerry Dwight Doty's Obituary
Jerry D. Doty, 78, died peacefully on February 5, 2010, at his home in Tulsa. Jerry was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, graduated from Oklahoma State University and became a career officer in the USAF. Jerry is survived by his wife Marian Kay, children Debi Riner, Diane Murphy and Jerry Doty, Jr. along with 6 grandchildren, Kat Skelly, Matt and Anna Riner, Lauren, Conor and Sean Murphy, and great granddaughter Keira Skelly. Highlights of Jerry’s military career were flying 52 combat missions, completing the first intercontinental flight refueling mission from California to Okinawa, serving as the Air Force liaison officer in Viet Nam, then Head of Foreign Disclosure at the Pentagon while obtaining two Master’s Degrees. Jerry loved to fly, play golf, watch westerns and football, but most of all he loved his family. He was an adventurous, fearless and loving man who respected authority, and grew in his desire to please the ultimate Authority, our Lord Jesus Christ.
