Jerry Leon Harris, born on September 18, 1940, in Meeker, Oklahoma, bid farewell to this world on February 20, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to his family and community.
Jerry was a man of many passions, finding joy in traveling, especially to the picturesque landscapes of Colorado, where he cherished every moment. His love for the outdoors extended to trout fishing and nurturing his garden, where he found solace and contentment.
A true handyman, Jerry thrived in maintaining his rental properties and took pride in ensuring they were in top condition. As the owner of Consumers IGA, he dedicated himself to his business and served his community with diligence and care.
Above all, Jerry's heart belonged to his family. Following the loss of his beloved wife, he exemplified extraordinary strength and devotion as a single father to his children, two of whom were still minors. His compassionate nature extended beyond his immediate family, as he became a father figure to many in his community, offering support and guidance whenever needed.
Jerry's passion for soccer was unwavering, and he immersed himself fully in the soccer community, eagerly learning and contributing all he could to the sport he loved.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Judith “Judy” Harris, along with other family members and friends.
He is survived by his children Todd Harris and his wife Kelly, Kerry Harris and his wife Taura, Aaron Harris and his wife Kari, Kyle Harris and his wife Michelle, and Dara Harris; grandchildren Zach Harris and his wife Catherine, Nate Harris and his wife Grace, Kaleb Harris, Caleigh Trotter, Jonathen White, Koral White, Aden Harris, Bailey Harris, Judith Harris, Jude Harris, Alana Daniel, and Meleah Daniel; great grandchild Lucy Grace Harris; brother Dan Harris and his wife Carol; along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jerry's life will be celebrated during visitation at Floral Haven Funeral Home on February 26, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2pm in the Floral Haven Rose Chapel, followed by burial and a reception to honor his life and legacy. Though he may have departed from this world, Jerry's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
