Jerry Eugene Simpson's Obituary
Jerry Eugene Simpson, age 91, passed from this life on May 13, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the city where his remarkable journey began on December 22, 1933. A lifelong Tulsan, Jerry lived a life full of love, laughter, and deep appreciation for the simple joys of the world around him. He was an Army veteran and was drafted during the Korean war, which he accepted with grace.
Above all, Jerry cherished his beloved wife, Willadean. Their love story began in Tulsa and blossomed into an extraordinary 74-year marriage filled with devotion, shared adventures, and unwavering companionship. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Jerry had a profound love for nature, especially the beauty of roses, which he admired with the same tenderness he showed to those around him. A passionate fan of OU football, Sundays were often spent with a game on, cheering for his team with enthusiasm. He also had a soft spot for English Bulldogs. He also had a surprising love for opera, a reflection of his well-rounded and thoughtful nature. Jerry was a man of many layers—gentle, humorous, patriotic, and deeply kind.
A true explorer at heart, Jerry found joy in traveling. He believed Hawaii was the perfect honeymoon destination and held dear the memories of his travels to Belize, especially the time spent there with his grandson, Eric.
Jerry was the epitome of a family man—steadfast, loving, and always present. He had a magnetic warmth that drew in babies, children, and animals alike. His kind spirit, quick wit, and love for humor made him a joy to be around. He was a proud supporter of American-made goods and had a deep appreciation for classic Americana, especially the films of John Wayne and timeless Westerns.
His legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who admired him, and a life story that will be remembered with great affection and respect.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
