Jerry Wayne Spencer's Obituary
Jerry Wayne Spencer, July 10, 1943 – January 20,2019 age 75, died at home. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Paula, son Jeffrey Lee Spencer, Muskogee, son Jerry Wayne Spencer, Jr. and wife Debbie, Tulsa, twin sister Judy Craft, Owasso, sister Pat Young, Grand Lake, sister Sheran Wilhite, Spiro, brother Jimmy Spencer, Longtown, brother Ed Spencer, Braggs, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rollen Lee, brother Donald Gene, brother James Ray, brother Larry Junior and one grandchild.Jerry was born in Tulsa to James Franklin Spencer and Opal Ray McSperitt Spencer. He graduated from McClain High School, class 1961. Upon graduation, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army where he earned multiple artillery commendations. He was honorably discharged June, 1964.Jerry retired from the Gunnebo-Johnson Corporation, Tulsa, in 2008 after a 38 year career as a machinist. He was a former member of the Tulsa Moose Lodge 862 and an active Sertoma member. He enjoyed serving the Sertoma Handicap Workshop, and many First United Methodist Church, Owasso activities. Bowling and golf were favorite hobbies and in 2008 Jerry played the St. Andrews golf course in Scotland, fulfilling a dream of his.Family visitation will be Wednesday, January 23, 5-7 pm at Floral Haven, Broken Arrow. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Owasso on Thursday, January 24 at 10 am. Burial will follow at the Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow.
