Uncle Jesse was a truly amazing man who could do just about anything. I remember him repairing guttering on the house and building a wonderful wheelchair ramp on his house when he was way in his 80's. He took such wonderful care of Aunt Betty for many years. He made the best cinnamon rolls in the world and raised a fabulous garden that he shared with so many. He was fiercely independent, (a true member of the Greatest Generation). Hello, my name is Anita Gragg Shepard and I grew up 2 houses away from Mr and Mrs Genen's house. They are both in all of my childhood memories and I remember most my Granddad (Charlie Gragg) and I going down to share stuff from our garden and look at Mr Geren's cars. I also remember them both sitting on the porch when I was raising my kids and how we always had to stop to say hello before we left. I had just a month or so ago asked one of the other neighbors how he was doing and was amazed to hear he was 100 years old! How wonderful the stories he had to tell. I am truly sorry for the loss of this remarkable man and am so glad I knew him.
