Jessie Lorene Franklin's Obituary
Jessie Lorene Franklin was born on May 1st 1924. On August 15, 2022, our mother journeyed on a trip to Heaven. Jessie Lorene Franklin was baptized as a 15-year-old in the Council Valley Baptist Church where generations of the Cates family attended church.
At a young age Lorene, rode on a train with her mom who was pregnant, and 2 other siblings from Missouri to Oklahoma where her dad was working. Spent the rest of her life serving God and enjoying her family and the Love of her life, Leonard Franklin.
Lorene and Leonard were married on October 24th, 1942 in Cushing, Oklahoma.
In Lorene's later years, she spoke of wanting to go home and be with her husband Leonard. And now they're together again.
Lorene is survived by her son, Lonnie and Becky Franklin, and daughter, Patricia and Rick Landreth, son, David and Carolyn Franklin; grandkids, Jason and Celeste Franklin, Stephanie Ross, Jennifer and Josh Mattix, Sarah and Bryant Murphy, Christy and Ethan Foster, Amanda and Robert Harmon, Jeremy and Shana Landreth, Andrew and Melissa Hendrix, Christopher Franklin, Amy Franklin and Jason Kau; 30 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Myerdirk, Opal Gayhart, and Rosie Goin.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Franklin; parents, Jesse and Lizzy Cates; brother, Vivan "Benny" Cates; sisters, Irene, Katie, Ernie, Nitzie "Jaunita", Eileen; and numerous other family members.
The visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Friday, August 19, 2022, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, August 19, 2022, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
