Jessie Perdue's Obituary
Jessie Faye Perdue, 95 of Chelsea, Alabama passed from this life on Sunday, November 17, 2019 in a Birmingham hospital with family by her side. She was born October 14, 1924 in Bryson, Texas to her parents, William Walter Houston and Pearl May Woods Houston.Jessie married Dale Perdue in 1941. He was in the United States Navy and stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. They moved back to Oklahoma City where he was an aircraft mechanic with American Airlines till his retirement after 32 years. Jessie was a talented Ceramicist with many beautiful works over her lifetime. She and Dale were Baptist Builders and went about the Southwest building churches and family centers until Dale’s passing. Mary JoAn and James were fortunate to have her come live with them in July of 2016 and passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the age of 95.Jessie is survived by one daughter, Mary JoAn Ferguson and her husband James of Chelsea, Alabama; one granddaughter, Jennifer J. Majors of Vestavia, Alabama; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Majors of Vestavia, Alabama; and one brother-in-law, James Perdue of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale L. Perdue; two sisters, Stella Irene Davidson and Anna Bea Stevenson; two brothers, William and John L. Houston; and her parents, Pearl Woods Houston and William W. Houston.Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrin McKnight officiating.
