Jim Atkinson's Obituary
James Weldon Atkinson Jr. (Jim), 61, passed away on September 5, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born March 13, 1958, to James Weldon and Mary Atkinson in Tulsa, OK. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tulsa. He then began his career in the title industry, remaining with one much loved employer and serving the city he loved for his entire 45-year career. Jim was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his brother, Bobby (Barbara) Fletcher of Broken Arrow and nieces Karen and Kelly; his sister Kathy Harrison of Tulsa and niece Nikki (Rob) Karn; his brother David (Leona) Atkinson of Jennings, OK and nephews Ryan Atkinson of Tulsa, Corey (Melissa) George of Broken Arrow and niece Sally (Matt) Allen of Norman; and many great-nephews and great- nieces. He is also survived by beloved friend Lora Stutzman of Tulsa, daughter Dara (John) Jennings & granddaughter Kaela Heise of Tulsa, daughter Catherine (Kristopher) Suder & grandson Tyler (Dayhanna) Suder of Tulsa, son Jerrod (Melissa) Stutzman & granddaughters Abigail and Brynn Stutzman of Edmond along with a host of other treasured family & friends. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on September 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at Floral Haven Rose Chapel at 6500 South 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
